I used to love browsing /r/rugbyunion before leaving that platform. It is out of season at the moment but with the world cup a couple of months away, does anybody have any ideas on how we can use the run up to the WC to grow this community?

If you try to "create" growth, it can seem forced (tens of posts, all from the same user, with no comments just makes places look desperate.) just needs a few of us to post news, opinions, memes, etc, fairly regularly - and, more importantly, comment on them to drive conversations.

Yeah I am having the same problem with another community I created/mod. I saw somewhere on lemmy that once you grow to a certain size its easier to balance between lurkers and people who are active. The problem is getting to that point.
