I can't get over how good this game is. Even so, how well implemented the 5e system (other than bonus action shove) is.
There are a lot of folks being turned on to DnD because of this game and that makes me incredibly happy as well.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is a story-rich, party-based RPG set in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, where your choices shape a tale of fellowship and betrayal, survival and sacrifice, and the lure of absolute power. (Website)

The sheer amount of stuff to do as well.
I'm in the final battle with about 80hrs played. I've basically binged this game for several days straight.
I'm already thinking about my next playthrough
I've got 40ish hours and I'm just now hitting Moonrise.
Interesting! I think the companion classes affect the player class choice a lot. Paladin, Bard, and Sorc are all classes that no companion has, which also make good face characters. And nobody needs two Clerics, Shadowheart has you covered.
shadowheart got... narratively killed early on in Act 1 for my solo playthrough. I ended up switching Wyll to Cleric and getting a Bard hireling.
I'm wondering if The Dark Urge counts as a custom character. It's pretty much custom+some backstory.
If you play as an origin character, you don't get to hear all that origin character's dialogue, right? Most of the voice acting is replaced with text choices?

It does, they mention that in the post.
Thanks. I missed that this was a post and not an image post.
Oh, I am one of only 368 people… I guess that explains why the wife was a bit grumpy
Did you just rush through everything or did you have a copy before launch?
It didn’t feel like I rushed it, maybe I missed some bits in act two, but it still took just over 50 hours.
Damn, very impressive. How many hours did it take to finish?
It took me just over 50 hours
I was playing with friends and one of them (male dwalf who looks like Caesar, named Little Caesar) killed Lae'zel and took her armour. He wears it because it has better stats but my good his little hairy dumpy ass is poking out the back of it and it's absolutely cursed
Regarding the first patch I'm wondering if they'll make any balance changes, like to hand crossbows, swords bard, or tavern brawler.
I would doubt it. Power builds like double hand crossbow are pretty classic DnD and they don't really affect anyone other than the player since it's a "single player" game for the most part. So why not let those people have their busted builds, same as you have that one person in the tabletop group that minmaxs hardcore.
These people are winning me over and I might have to jump on H the bandwagon
