Formatting works in titles and is pretty interesting.

It's really annoying.

I hate it.

And it doesn't do this on the official web frontend, nor on the Photon web frontend (at least on mobile, haven't checked desktop).

So I think the developers of Lemmy don't expect this to work.

Ya I use the same code for markdown as lemmy-ui and it has a separate markdown setting for titles so that headers, lists, images, etc don't work in titles

Right. Hopefully LJ patches it if it's an issue.

This is apparently a feature of Lemmy itself that has recently been implemented in Sync

Would be nice to have the ability to disable it

I'm pretty sure headers and hashtags resulting in this is not intended so at least that should be fixed at some point.

I am on (outdated) version "v24.03.05-18:44" according to Google Play, and I do not have this issue.

It's a recent addition

Romancelandia.club appears to be a Mastodon instance. Seems to me like this is the result of beginning a post with a hashtag, which markdown formatting styles as a header.

Simple solution, I would think, is to disable markdown formatting for titles.
