I use containerized chroots regularly for ephemeral needs. It's super easy using a combination of debootstrap, chroots, and unshare!

Chrooted jails for jumphosts, containers for development or hosting.

OCI Containers (used by Docker, Podman and Kubernetes). I have to use chroots at work and they are a pain.
