Baffling, everyone could eat the exact same steak without having to breed and kill an animal. Instead people are like, "nonono, I want the suffering"

“We must protect our incredible farmers and the integrity of American agriculture. Lab-grown meat is a disgraceful attempt to undermine our proud traditions and prosperity, and is in direct opposition to authentic agriculture,” Simpson continued.

What a profoundly shortsighted and stupid resaon.

Good Meat, which describes itself on its website as “the first company in the world to sell cultivated meat,” said it was “disappointed” that DeSantis “signed into law the criminalization of cultivated meat in” the Sunshine State.

“The law is a setback for everyone: Floridians who deserve the right to eat whatever safe and approved meat they want; Florida’s technology sector, innovators and entrepreneurs; and all those working to stop the worst impacts of climate change,” the post continues.

I hope their business prospers in other States.

Lab grown meat, as it is right now has a massive scalability problem which makes it impossible to produce it in industrial quantities

That said, the fact that this was signed into law means that there were multiple people in business and politics that decided to dedicate their time towards legislating a complete non issue. great Job!

The silver lining to me is that the professional assholes who run the meat industry consider lab grown meat viable enough to be a threat.

This is my take as well.

I hope this news acts as a free advertisement for lab grown meat. Maybe conservatives will buy cultured chicken breast and shoot them with ARs for YouTube content?

The “hot take” governor.

I have a theory, and hear me out now: DeSantis partnered with Rockstar, to use the entire state of Florida to promote GTA6.
