I mean, I get it. Running a massive website like YouTube costs a LOT of money. That being said, the multiple unskippable ads before and during videos make for a terrible user experience. Maybe they should consider dialing that back some. Maybe that would get people to reconsider their use of an ad blocker.

This is a good time to port NewPipe or LibreTube to Linux and Windows. Until it's not too late.

Something like FreeTube?

It has its own way of scraping YouTube and is using Invidious
