It's game one of Mavericks vs Celtics. Celtics have home court advantage.

Thanks for joining us all season everyone who has participated.

Welcome to the first NBA Finals series in any Lemmy NBA community history.

I really hope this is the series we think it can be. Gonna be a super fun match up with the two vastly different players. I'm a Lakers fan so naturally I hate Boston but man I really love the players on that team. And the Luka Kyrie combo has really proved me wrong. I thought that combo would implode but here they are.

Unfortunately I gotta watch it tomorrow due to a birthday dinner.

You’re like the first Lakers fan I’ve seen on Lemmy. Now we’re legit!

I am for OKC, but Lakers/Clippers are my second teams at heart (lived in LA for a decade).

So excited for the new coach. Congrats.

I’ll be watching tomorrow as I can’t tonight, hope I can avoid spoilers!

I'm in the same boat. I have a birthday dinner at a jazz club for a friend so I'm going off the grid and can hopefully avoid the spoilers as well!

As anticipated, KP was the game changer for the Celtics. With his elite rim protection, nobody outside of Luka could get good shots in the paint. That and he draws out the Mavs centers to clear the driving lanes. The great shooting was just the icing on the cake.

Well played by Celtics. KP and Celtic's defense were the huge difference.

Irving should find ways to score. The other Mavs should aid Doncic offensively.

Well that was something.

Let's see how Jason Kidd adapts.

Boston played quite solid.

This is a tough call to know who to root for.

I don’t really care about either team, soooo Celtics?

This is the next best thing for the league besides Lakers Celtics.

I root for Mavericks because it makes Thunder look good. Celtics capsizing at the end of an expected championship run is chefs kiss IMO. Mavericks are the clear underdog.

If Muscala or Blake Griffin were still on Celtics, I’d root for them. But there’s no one I care about there anymore.
