Four Swords might be the first "must have" Switch Online game for me. My wife and I wanted to play it for years but not at the existing price (multiple GBAs, multiple cartridges, plus a link cable).

I had it on the gamecube, but to play multiplayer you each needed a gameboy with link cable, still.

This could be explained by the use of the GBA screen when in caves and buildings, but it's a very easy method to fleece the fans while the general public will go "never mind, not worth".

When Four Swords was released, most of my friends already had their own GBA, so it wasn't that difficult to track down a couple link cables to play. Hell, I had a GBA and a GBA SP, so it was more difficult getting everyone together that getting the hardware.

Does anyone know if the coop can be played "locally" from switch to switch or is it only online?

I have a flight coming up with some friends, and it'd sure be cool to just play this on the plane with them.

It says "4 players locally or online" in the linked video

Additionally, I played this last night in local multiplayer, so can confirm it works
