The issue is still open! The merge request seems to be almost ready. Though there hasn't been any new development since May.
Seems like the feature freeze for 4.3 is still in effect. I imagine they won't merge it in until they start compiling features for the next build. Good for them though, the feature they paid for is finally coming!
There was once gold tier "pls fix #79697" and platinum tier "Thx for #79697" as well. I find their approach very effective.

We have a four strike system in this community where you get warned the first time you break a rule, then given a week ban, then given a year ban, then a permanent ban. Certain actions may bypass this and go straight to permanent ban if severe enough and done with malicious intent
