Thank god, horrible show, maybe HBO will stop giving that hack Sam Levinson more money for his creep shows.
I haven’t checked the article yet as it’s springing errors for me but was this said in the same breath?
"The Idol was one of HBO's most provocative original programs, and we're pleased by the strong audience response," said an HBO spokeswoman. "After much thought and consideration, HBO, as well as the creators and producers, have decided not to move forward with a second season. We're grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible work."
I don’t know. It’s kinda funny to me. But yeah I agree with the sentiments here, horrible show.
It's presented in the article as such, yes. It's the find something, literally anything, nice to say first strategy by the looks of it.
I mean from what I hear 100% of the show's issues came from the writing. All the acting and cinematography were great.
Interesting.
Not going to lie, I do want HBO to unironically release the original version of the first season. I heard that it was basically almost done before The Weeknd came in and made it all weird.
Rolling Stone estimated that it was 80% done before Amy Seimetz left, which is still a awful lot to just throw away. I'm not sure I'd want to watch the original version, but I'd happily watch a documentary about what went wrong.
I saw the weekend was in it and was instantly out. Knew I'd have absolutely no interest.
After one season too many
