A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.

Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.

There is only one rule:*

Comic Books is a no judgement zone.

You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.

If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.

* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(

I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

I've recently been reading Rick Remender's Sacrificers and man it's so good! Love the world building and some great characters. Max Fiumara's art is absolutely top tier.

I'm curious what are some of your favourites? Would love some recommendations. Other lesser known ones I can recommend are Wes Craig's Kaya and Stephanie Phillip's Grim.

[off topic?]

I always recommend 'Scalped.'

Think 'The Sopranos' set on an early 2000's Indian reservation. Lincoln Red Crow is an ex-radical turned politician who is trying to open a fancy casino with the help of Hmong mobsters. The FBI is after him for a 1970's murder and his own daughter hates him.

Oh yes. I've been meaning to read this for a while now. Jason Aaron is hit or miss for me, but I'll definitely be checking this out sooner rather than later.

Absolutely loving Sacrificers rn too, ~~I haven't read yesterdays issue yet though so don't tell me! Lol.~~

Read it. "Oh shit!"

I'll add Ice Cream Man to the list, and the Minor Threats universe if that counts, and I Hate Fairyland, Geiger, and I think that's it so far. Most everything else I like seems to be just a few runs, or seasonal like Creepshow.

😂

Geiger

I've been meaning to read the Ghost Machine stuff that Image is releasing. Is Geiger the best place to start?

I like Geiger the best personally, and it was the first they released iirc with the older run and Geiger: Ground Zero. Tbh I dropped Rook and Redcoat on like issue 3, I wasn't a huge fan.
