This is a great app that I have been using through the rapid beta. If you were too late to get a beta slot, you can now get it from the App Store. Be sure to give it a great review if you like it!

This app is amazing and the development has been so rapid, I can’t imagine how it is going to be in 30 days!

Memmy has been my go-to client for the last few weeks. It feels the most like Apollo, which is what I was going for when searching for a mobile client. There was some buzz a while ago about the Lemon app, but that developer seems to have just vanished with no word on any progress. I'm not locking myself into any app for now, I still want to see who can deliver the best quality this early on, but Memmy has been winning so far.

I love Memmy. Wefwef is good but Memmy feels so much more polished and nice. Plus I love the sunset theme as a nod to Apollo

[–] Humanbiscuit@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Just loaded up Memmy and enjoying the sunset theme as well. I’m impressed so far.

[–] FlihpFlorp@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah I used sunset on Apollo and it really makes me feel at home

Memmy is my go-to as well. I’m gonna be waiting a few months and then trying out other clients to see how they’ve matured, and seeing if there’s any others I like more than Memmy.

As for the Lemon app, I may be misremembering things but I’m quite certain that they merged with another Lemmy client called Limbo and formed Liftoff for Lemmy.

For UK users, I had to search for lemmy and scroll to find the app. It wouldn’t show up searching for mommy

[–] kate@lemmy.uhhoh.com 3 points 1 year ago

"memmy for lemmy" worked for me

Mlem is a different app. Both are good, but only Memmy is currently released into the App Store.

Very nice app! I only just joined the fediverse and was disappointed at there being no iOS apps. This one seems amazing so far!

This app is an absolute banger! Keep up the great work♥️

[–] cynik_sxe@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Pretty solid app, I’m done searching for alternatives and stopped using the web app. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

[–] HairHeel@programming.dev 5 points 1 year ago (5 children)

Pretty cool. It’s great to see so many clients on the market.

One minor feature I wish every iOS client had is better password manager integration. Normally on login forms, the app can provide a hint to the OS of what domain you’re logging in to; then when you click the password box, the password manager can suggest to autocomplete that domain’s password. Currently every time I set up a new app, I have to type programming.dev twice. Once in the “which lemmy instance are you connecting to” box and once in LastPass’s search bar. It’s. A minor inconvenience, but I wonder if clients could pass along the lemmy URL to the password manager after I’ve typed it the first time.

Reminder.

If you enjoy Memmy please leave a positive review in the App Store.

I am loving it! It brought me here and I am so happy to have a new place to hang out. Definitely giving it a 5 star rating! It feels a lot like Apollo which I love

Trying it out right now! So far looks great!

[–] redsol2@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago

I forgot I wasn't using Apollo haha. Super solid Reddit replacement.

[–] broastbeef@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

What i am seeing in the app on the front page/all is not matching what i am seeing on this website...any ideas?

EDIT - app was on Hot, website on Active. We gucci fam!

[–] johnthedoe@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

Kudos to the team they really made the reddit to lemmy transition a good experience with this app.

[–] theboomr@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Is this app still planning to release on Android at some point?

[–] Qiz 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Between this and wefwef.app Lemmy has become pretty much a better user experience than Reddit.

The only thing missing is the content. Hopefully with more adoption we see Lemmy grow enough to be able to replace Reddit entirely.

[–] Darus@techhub.social 2 points 1 year ago

@Qiz @richie510 i still miss the simplicity of opening Reddit and switching between subscribed and All and knowing i was seeing the top posts. Lemmy is still a bit confusing with the home/federated/local pages and all the instances. But it's getting there

[–] wizebin@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It's pretty good, I am having a bit of a tough time adding a body to a post, I wish making a text post was as simple as writing a comment!

Feels pretty zippy, nice to have everything in one place.

Is there a place in the app to submit feedback?

Edit: ah it looks like the "back" button is how you save the body of the post, I kept pulling the page down to dismiss the popover and it would erase my body, maybe we change the title from "back" to "save"?

[–] richie510@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

If you go to profile -> settings -> email debug log you can outbound suggestions from the app.

You can also visit the Memmy community to interact with the developer, and other enthusiasts.

Just downloaded it, IT'S AWESOME

[–] Spacecraft@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Wow. I’m seriously impressed with the functionality already in this app. This just made my lemmy browsing so much better.

[–] HKPiax@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

This app is just great. I’ve been a user basically from day one, and I’ve seen it improve exponentially, for real. At this point, I’m just tuning on the communities to get the content I want, but experience-wise I don’t miss Apollo, which is saying a lot about the state of Memmy.

[–] Docus@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Downloading now. Been waiting for an ios app.

[–] Hiru@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Writing this post from Memmy, couldn’t even get to try mlem but this App sure looks promising!

[–] captsneeze@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago

I’ve been using the beta version for a couple of weeks and it’s pretty solid. There are some features I miss from Apollo when I was on Reddit, but I’m hopeful they are coming.

Very impressed with memmy, we are so spoiled for choice with wefwef, memmy, and mlem!

[–] Ado@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

It’s so damn good!!

[–] bbene@midwest.social 1 points 1 year ago

I’ve been using wefwef the past week and just installed Memmy today. ww is great, but I’m really enjoying Memmy so far.

[–] Alterean@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Got it installed, followed a couple communities. Biggest wish for me is that it showed how many subscribers or whatever that a community has. It’s annoying finding the biggest/most active ones.

[–] richie510@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

No app or site is feature complete right now. I recommend also using wefwef.app and using the site. You can install the site the same way you install wefwef. On your phone, go to landscape with the website to expose all the features and locate ranked communities that way.

[–] BootySweat@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago

Impressive work. Has the Apollo feel I’ve been hoping for!

[–] weedwhacking@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Wow I’m loving it so far! Although why is the “oled” theme inverse? The table cells are black and the background is grey, that’s awful for legibility. Every other iOS app has black background with grey table cells
