Why is every news of this device so underwhelming

[–] limerod@reddthat.com 13 points 3 months ago

Maybe, these are hints to skip the 9 and get the 10 or 8 series

What else about P9 is underwhelming? Genuinely curious, not trying to start an argument. I'll be upgrading from a pixel 6, so maybe that's why it all sounds fine to me. Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner was my biggest request and it sounds like that's in.

For one it's apparently launching with Android 14 not 15

SoC is a nothing burger plus we are sticking with the same line of modems that are famous for connectivity issues and excessive power consumption on American carriers (I’ve personally had these issues that led me to sell my 8 Pro).

Not only is this disappointing news, but I struggle to call the device a flagship phone, and it’s not even properly released yet. It is so far behind in the hardware department. As far as I’m concerned, they re-released the Pixel 8. What Pixel 9?

It actually has a slightly newer modem, though we'll see if it actually addresses those issues.

Tensor G3 sucked. Guess how the G4 will perform.
