Why not defedarate from it. Not our problem if threads doesn't have any instance to federate with. Tho it may become fully centralized

The thing with anything these corpos are doing is that it suddenly becomes a cultural trend for the next week or so, and every techbro and marketbro talks about it all the time. I have been trying to distance myself from this bullshit for a while now but it I find it impossible to do so. Even here we constantly talk about these idiots. No matter how much we make jokes out of them, simply coming in contact with the shit these billionaires have in their heads is indeed depressing. These people are the ruling class of the entire humanity and the best they can do for culture is idiotic social media platforms and ads.

They are tarded actually, in constant need to be in the center of attention, and people talking about them. Seemingly no good human qualities whatsoever, but a lot of intellectual problem solving skills, which they apply only to make themselves richer and more powerful.

They could apply their problem solving skills and money to improve life for humans on the planet but they don't have the consciousness to do so.

What a waste.

At least people in open source are trying to work together to build an alternative to the walled gardens and preditory ad platforms we call the internet today.

Oh god, the cringe is strong?!

They should have just called it CorpBlast. How anybody can form a habit and find enjoyment out of opening an app just to see some random topic of the day for you to argue about while you look at ads, is beyond me. Maybe I just don't get it but it seems they did not account for the fact that the actual end users have different interests and will want different things in their feeds?

It's time to close the ActivityPub hatches so that stuff doesn't all flood in here.

The analogies in this were really good and honestly really accurately describe threads enough for me. What a strange place that is, the captions on the screenshots killed me.

This article reminds me of Bo Burnham's Funny Feeling. That Funny Feeling

Can we just agree that Inside is a masterpiece and it’s just ineffable for me.

It’s such a great take on mental health and how he suffered through crippling anxiety.

Throughly enjoyed every bit of it.
