Vice President Harris and President Biden will make their first joint campaign trip next week since he dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, the White House announced Friday morning.

Politico reported that Harris now wants Mr. Biden's support in battleground states such as Pennsylvania and Michigan, where he's still popular, especially with older white voters

But he would ensure that the spotlight stayed on Harris, embarking mainly on a limited campaign schedule in the fall, the outlet said.

Harris - Walz will have several surrogates to campaign for them. Barack and Michelle Obama, Joe and Jill Biden, Josh Shapiro, Gretchen Whitmer, Tony Evers, Roy Cooper, Pete Buttigieg, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mark Kelly and Sanders.

There is no equivalent group of surrogates for Trump - Vance. Not even close.

Trump doesn't have surrogates, he has co-defendants.

You said it right

[–] billiam0202@lemmy.world 24 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yes they do, but instead of IRL supporters they have the ones controlling the media. Musk, Murdoch, Zuckerberg, et al.

[–] Rapidcreek@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

Try to put one of them in front of a crowd. They wouldn't do it anyway.

First order of business should be to promote the moniker "Tampon Tim."

On Saturday, Trump told his audience to cover the ears of their children before he uttered the evil word "tampon".

The Genital Observation Party are so fragile that not only are books banned, but evil words like "cis" and "tampon" must be censored.

Creepy, weird af republicans and their creepy, weird af obsessions. The Gross Old Pedophiles party should be banned for the sake of the public good.

Well, I'm stealing that term! It fits them so well...

[–] don@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago

By all means, please do!

"Believe us that this is a dirty word, but we're also trying to make it something we will say constantly. We are very smart." Fucking geniuses over there.

[–] fed0sine@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

It is genius.

Repetition drills stuff into your brain, and in this case it is radicalizing puritan thinking.

I hope he finds some relief in not campaigning himself anymore. Dude's got a stressful enough job as it is, especially as he should be kickin' back on the beach somewhere.

I don't know about all this. Harris greatest asset so far has been the fact that she's not Biden. If I was her I would stay as far away as possible to give the public the best chance possible of forgetting both him and how linked they are. The feeling that this is a new, fresh campaign is the reason behind the momentum. Let's not halt it, please?

But what do I know, I'm not a campaign strategist.

My exact thought. People where I live (not the US) are RABIDLY anti Biden. If it reaches as far as rural maritime Canada, I shudder to think how it’s like in actual America. There are cars that drive around here with “Let’s Go Brandon” all over the hood.

[–] timbuck2themoon@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

They are not targeting deranged loonies like you're talking about.

[–] PerogiBoi@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago

There are more deranged loonies who vote than sane people who have better things to do than vote. The loonies run public discourse now. Have to pay attention to them or one ends up being blindsided when a loonie candidate gets voted in.

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

The "let's go Brandon" guys aren't going to vote for any Dem. They are brainwashed clowns in a cult.

That was my immediate gut reaction too, but on reflection she came into the game late and can't realistically cover everything herself.

[–] K1nsey6@lemmy.ml -4 points 2 months ago

Seeing that she doesn't have any policy of her own, she is Biden.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

Is pot legal in Maryland? Then they can make a real joint appearance.
