Also, to any new Fedi admins spinning up instances, remember, DO NOT import blocklists blindly without doing your due diligence.

The most widely used blocklist is by Oliphant, who has been proven time and time again to add to the blocklist for personal reasons and lie within the list.

Obviously this is harmful to those who do nothing wrong and end up on the list because of a personal beef.

@BeAware@social.beaware.live I would go so far as to say you don't need blocklists. Just block what you see and get reported and if you need references just have a look at https://gui.fediseer.com/, there you will find reputations.

@BeAware@social.beaware.live I don't have anything blocked, but I do have some of the Harris nonsense filtered. Not that I'm a Trump supporter. I just find corrupt liberalism personally obnoxious.

@BeAware@social.beaware.live Just got a report from @mastodon.online@mastodon.online against @pixelworld_ai@aipub.social simply reporting J's entire recent messages. It's:

Weird
Baseless
Hiding behind a bot (but Mastodon does this defaultly, letting their users hide behind bots to other instances; why?)

@shanie@tails.ch @pixelworld_ai@aipub.social it's probably not a specific bot, just that a mastodon.online user reported them for some dumb reason and mastodon doesn't show the reporters username for privacy, so every report would show like that.

People are fucking weird.😒

@BeAware@social.beaware.live Yeah I just realized that's what's going on, but that 'privacy' just makes it Oh! Exploitable! (And honestly if that's how it's going to be, that bot is best banned because I don't want to deal with Mr. Big Server's reports).
