I enjoyed this video, im already subbed to him but i loved his take on Linux cause im kinda in the same boat. I wanna be here, but man I do wish it was a little easier sometimes.

I think his biggest problem is package installation for which he can use discover or his equivalent for his de.

I have used discover and other similar apps like the Pop shop but man are they just not quite there yet imo.

I installed Pop!OS on my media pc recently and that gave me more problems than discover on my main pc running Fedora.

Both were good for finding apps but installing was kind of a pain. Usually it would crash, or not install at all, sometimes canceling would hang forever, etc.

Though this could be due to my internet being shit where i live atm so ymmv.

Discover just isn't that reliable. I just don't even bother with it anymore and go straight to the command line

Ask a friend if possible. Eventually it gets easier :)

It has gotten easier the more I've used it amd I'm very stubborn so I'll be here a while lol.

Unfortunately the only person i know that also uses Linux uses Gentoo so he'll have to compile my question for a few days before he can answer it.

Terminal is life!

But also, easy mode Linux distro for the technically challenged would be great

I felt like the cons he listed were mostly just beginner problems and once he gets settled in it will be mostly pros. However I can tell he's going down the privacy schizo path so I'm sure he will create a whole new world of issues.

Also I feel like air gapping your system is a bit much for a YouTuber.

Yeah, editing the session bus settings of the Firefox flatpak just so my laptop’s screen doesn’t go to sleep while watching YouTube fullscreen is disappointing. Not difficult, but still disappointing.

Ever since I started daily driving Linux, I constantly face problems that make me wonder if the developers of open source software even use their own applications
