Hello,

So far I have been using N26 and Revolut, which allow me to have Spanish IBANs.

Now I would like to open an account with a bank without fees, like OpenBank or BBVA online account. Mostly I plan to use the apps, so they would have to be good.

Do you have any advice and which banks I should absolutely avoid?

Thanks

Hola,

Avoid la Caixa, they're only good if you want a doorway to sleep in. Revolut is officially a Lithuanian bank, but otherwise I'd say that's the best choice. OpenBank might be worth checking out too.

Thanks, you are not the first one to bring Caixa as being bad.

Are you an OpenBank customer yourself, or did you just hear good things about it?

Be carefull with openbank. I haven't use it, but they are just the online version of Santander bank, and Santander is one of the worst Spanish banks out there.

Ah, I just opened an account with them. I guess I might close it if it's too bad.

Which banks do you recommend?

I have tried ING and n26 only. Both work fine, no major problems with them. For ing i think that you need to send your paycheck to the ing account in order to have 0 commission. I've also heard good things about abanca and evo.

I haven't used OpenBank myself, but friend who gave recommended it to me. It's just a brand of Santander of course, but seems to be cheaper.

Thanks for offering!

I had a look at BBVA, but they don't have savings account, right?

Nope. I'm using N26 for that too. It's pretty rare in spanish banks to have a saving account that generates anything.

Good to know, thanks!
