How is that people in positions of power often seem to have no sense of humour... Or at the very least their humour is completely different to mine... Is it just an age/generational thing?

Aliko Dangote seems to be a real classy guy:

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 24 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Wait, the address is "street, house number, Brasil"? I guess he missed 2 levels of data hierarchy there.

[–] redcalcium@c.calciumlabs.com 18 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

I think he don't need to mention the full address just to show him he know where he live. Street address is enough.

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 5 points 1 year ago

Yeah, it's a bit odd....

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Do I have your permission to cross-post that into !osvaldo12@lemmy.fancywhale.ca ? ( feel free to do so yourself as well, otherwise)

[–] redcalcium@c.calciumlabs.com 14 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You don't need to ask for my permission as I don't own that content, it just something that I found when googling the man.

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 5 points 1 year ago

Cool! Thanks!

[–] SomeoneElse@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Ah I missed that sub, thanks for the link!

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 18 points 1 year ago

I believe it's a self-esteem issue. Someone that needs to enforce beliefs onto others could be very much self-aware of people 'laughing at them'. Had my fair share of colleagues like this from a wide range of age groups and cultures, unfortunately.

[–] exterstellar@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

The amount of anger in his response is part of what makes this hilarious. Major "I Think You Should Leave" energy.

In South Africa every 60 seconds a minute passes.

Here's the thing you should know about its citizens:

They really support software piracy

They are friendly

Feel free to post your favourite Osvaldo12 related posts/memes on the newly formed !osvaldo12@lemmy.fancywhale.ca

[–] itsAsin@lemmy.ml 16 points 1 year ago (1 children)

hot damn! i am the first to open your page thru lemmy.world and behold i now understand just a little bit more about how "federating" works.

good luck with your /c

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 7 points 1 year ago

lol Thanks for stopping by! Just had to be done, I couldn't find any other osvaldo12 /c out there.

[–] aport@programming.dev 5 points 1 year ago

Is he like a new Ken M?

[–] CheshireSnake@iusearchlinux.fyi 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I didn't even know he had a subreddit, much less a lemmy community. Subbed.

Is he still actively shitposting, though?

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 2 points 1 year ago

I haven’t seen it anymore, but he did a few posts last year from what I remember. I don’t have twitter anymore for that. Maybe I’ll create a bot for that.

[–] navitux@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

long live to Osvaldo12 wherever he is now

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 19 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Even though osvaldo12 uses the internet, he still lives in his home.

[–] navitux@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

of course, but I don't know where's the geographic location he's right now, maybe he moved

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He moves about at the beat of his heart.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Even though home is where the heart is, the house or apartment of osvaldo12 does not change location when he leaves it. This in spite of the fact that he never goes anywhere without his heart.

[–] ndguardian@lemmy.studio 23 points 1 year ago

It’s so dumb but I love it. I’m going to need to borrow that line.

[–] andy_wijaya_med@lemmy.world 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The only subreddit I am missing. :( Osvaldo

[–] CommunityLinkFixer@lemmings.world 49 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Hi there! Looks like you linked to a Lemmy community using an URL instead of its name, which doesn't work well for people on different instances. Try fixing it like this: !osvaldo12@lemmy.fancywhale.ca

[–] Espiovvv@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 year ago
[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Excellent bot! Is there a command to summon it when it's needed and doesn't automatically appear?

[–] AnonStoleMyPants@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 year ago

Yes! We need a spell to summon the this beast for the greater good.

[–] Zana@startrek.website 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

This link just tells me nothing is here, I'm on wefwef if that matters.

[–] bhj@lemmy.one 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm on wefwef and I get a few posts. It's likely the instance you are on hasn't federated with that one yet.

[–] FancyGUI@lemmy.fancywhale.ca 2 points 1 year ago

Could be! Let me know if that’s the case, I’m the owner of the fancywhale instance

[–] andy_wijaya_med@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Osvaldooooo.

Subbed.

[–] dilawar@lemm.ee 18 points 1 year ago

someone invite osvalo to lemmy.

[–] danie10@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 year ago

It really depends on where in Africa, as in some countries, it literally carries the death penalty... Africa is a big and diverse place.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.ml 30 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

It's a joke. Jokes work by setting up an expectation, then subverting it. "Why did the chicken cross the road?" You think it might to be get bugs or run away from a fox, but the answer is "to get to the other side". This joke works the same way. You think it's going to be able a common want or need that spans sexual orientations, but it has to do with night coming after the day.

Also, the politician is a humorless fuck head and is being trolled.

[–] Raphael@lemmy.world -1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Neither works.

[–] Duamerthrax@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Majority disagrees.
