Hasbro is 100% demanding Larian patch out the stuff they left in the game for this to happen. Guarantee you they are pissed about this as soon as they find out about it.

or they left this half ass feature block intentionally as a fuck you to hasbro

Hasbro can make that demand for sure, but the code is out there.

Copies of the game with the code are already downloaded, including GOG versions which don't have any DRM.

Those copies are not going to go anywhere.

Hasbro will not be able to sue every single person who has access to these tools to delete them.

Here's to a multi-year long process to port the campaigns from BG1 and 2 into 3.

I might have to buy it for the PC now. I've been content playing it on my PS5, but this is literally game changing and worth the investment.

What does this allow? I'm not knowledgeable about this stuff

Basically entire new campaigns with voice acting! Very exciting.

It's like using the BG3 game as a D&D game engine for creating whatever campaign / game you want. Let's say you didn't like BG3's story or characters, but enjoyed the technical aspects, then you can now hope for people creating their own custom campaigns, or even a complete open world setting.

Okay, that is pretty exciting!

You can literally build a whole new game using the BG3 game engine if you were so inclined
