The scale is very misleading. 0-200m is the same as 200-1000 and 1000-2000m is like 1/8 of 0-1000m.

Doesn't really capture the insane depths of the Mariana Trench. This website visualizes it better. Albeit without the Saddam lying at the bottom.

Yeah sadam is no where near as wide as mount everest on his worse day

[-] abbadon420@lemm.ee 12 points 5 days ago

Like most dictators, his ego has to be accounted for as well.

[-] cybervseas@lemmy.world 57 points 6 days ago

It's like Where's Waldo. I'm a fan.

On my phone, the bottom was just cut off. I searched for way too long before realizing that.

[-] finickydesert@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 days ago

Are you sure you're looking deep enough?

[-] Artyom@lemm.ee 40 points 5 days ago

This has been a very educational meme trend.

[-] MataVatnik@lemmy.world 31 points 5 days ago

Me, oblivious: this would be a good graphic to insert Saddam Hussein

[-] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 28 points 6 days ago

Surely that’d be Osama Bin Laden in this case

[-] jaybone@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

He was hiding in a house with VHS porn tapes and an Xbox or something.

[-] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 2 points 5 days ago

Though after they killed him, they buried his body at sea at an undisclosed location, to prevent it becoming a shrine.

[-] Ilovethebomb@lemm.ee 24 points 6 days ago

I want to get some Saddam Hussein stickers and just stick them on to random information boards etc.

[-] MagnyusG@lemmy.world 10 points 6 days ago

only at the bottom

[-] scytale@lemm.ee 16 points 6 days ago

I fucking knew it. Didn’t look at the community the post is in and halfway down I realized he’d be down there somewhere.

[-] KazuchijouNo@lemy.lol 7 points 5 days ago

I made it all the way down, it was completely unexpected. Made me chuckle

[-] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 14 points 6 days ago

Saddam has some incredible crush resistance, we should start making entire submarines out of whatever material that is.

[-] KingJalopy@lemm.ee 15 points 6 days ago

[-] TransplantedSconie@lemm.ee 10 points 6 days ago

Informative and like the other poster said, it's a "Where's Saddam?" quest lmao.

[-] troglodytis@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

Something's fishy about their conversions to feet.

[-] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

This time, my eyes shot straight to the bottom. I've been trained.

FACT:99% of submersible journeys end just before they find Saddam Hussein

[-] Repelle@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

Apparently Everest is 157 miles tall?

[-] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 6 days ago

The leading 8 of the Everest height in ft is extra. (Or whatever that symbol is, it looks like an 8)

[-] tfw_no_toiletpaper@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

I can almost read the names

[-] AmericaDelendaEst@hexbear.net 3 points 5 days ago
