Dunno why you're surprised. Dude is a consummate performer with a large songbook of his own.
Here he is singing "Never Gonna Give You Up" with the Foo Fighters.
Here he is doing voice and drums on Highway to Hell.
The man owns the stage.

This should not be 8 years old... How is uptown funk 8 years old? Oh time when did you start going so quickly?
Uptown funk is 10 years old
I swear it's not a rickroll
That sounds like something a rickroller would say.
I think it sorta works, mostly because I never really bought the original as being particularly authentic of, well, anything. It's a fun party song just begging to be covered on cruise ships for the next 40 years. Astley is a solid pro who clearly never stopped performing and didn't skimp on the arrangement.
Never
Gonna
Give
Some
Give
Interesting arrangement and glorious voice. He sounds a littleo out of breath though.
Have you ever sang this song? Lol
The breath pauses are seriously small. I'm thinking there was some editing in the original recording, especially considering Mark Ronson was already a seasoned producer at that point.
Well, it's Thursday night and we're in the spot. I don't believe you, I'm just going to watch.
I hear they watched from all over. Places like Harlem, Hollywood, Jackson, Mississippi...
Oddly good. 👍
