The Toronto District School Board is holding a special meeting on Wednesday evening to discuss a field trip to a protest in support of an Indigenous community last week. According to videos on social media, pro-Palestinian slogans were chanted at the protest.

The monkeys paw will surely curl when they also ban students from attending the March for Life in Ottawa right?

When I was in school my school sent us every year pitching it as a free trip to Ottawa.

Premier Doug Ford said Wednesday he had asked Education Minister Jill Dunlop to investigate, saying kids shouldn't be at protests and should instead be in school learning math, spelling, geography and history.

Field trips are voluntary and are done with the consent of the parents. If these kids went to the protests it's likely their parents and teachers saw this is a good opportunity to educate these students on our rights as well as how and why to protest. Our high schools have a civics class for a reason (I know it's only a half credit but I think you get my point).

Oh totally, the snafu here was they were prepared to go to an indigenous protest. Instead they went to a Palestinian protest, while dressed in blue.
