!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here.

MODERATORS

Nintendo is one of the worst and most unethical companies on the planet. Would be nice if there was a community where people could share their hatred over Nintendo.

The 4 horsemen of the apocalypse are basically HP, Apple, Nintendo and Nestlé. Fuck all shitty corporations but fuck those 4 in particular.

I don't share your opinion on this matter, so I don't know of one off the top of my head, and my quick search yielded no results.

Normally I'd say "Be the change you want to see." and encourage you to create a community for it yourself. However, you should probably ask yourself first, whether a community dedicated to hating something is even worth having, and then ask yourself if it is worth moderating. I can't imagine you'd have any real great conversations when it's all going to just be "x sucks" you'd basically just end up with the same post over and over again.

I agree with you on Nestlé, but HP, Apple, and Nintendo don't even make the top 50 "worst and most unethical companies on the planet". You need put in companies like Union Carbide India Limited responsible for the Bhopal disaster, the big tobacco companies, a whole bunch of defense contractors, some other agribusinesses, and a bunch of banks.

But Nintendo is suing the people who made the game they like. That's worse than any chemical release, child labor, or genocide.

There's this for corporations across the board:

For Nestle specifically:

For the occasional venting there's also:

Ah, yes. Nintendo has definitely done evil on the level of... checks notes ...slavery.

Might want to reevaluate your list there.

Make one.

I won’t subscribe because I love Nintendo.

[–] TootSweet@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago

Nintendo can be pretty evil assholes, but yeah. I wouldn't say they belong in the same category as Nestle and HP.

Hasbro, meanwhile...

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago

I won't either because the idea of a space dedicated to hate doesn't sound healthy to me.

Why Nintendo?

If you're referring to the way they handle copyright, that's more of a problem with the Japanese legal system than Nintendo's fault.

I can't think of much else they do that's mean or evil.

There's also some of their business strategy, e.g. Super Mario 3D All-Stars limited release, low production runs of Amiibo, and so forth.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

You could just, you know, not purchase their stuff if you don't like the way they do business. They don't really have any influence on others the way Google, Apple, and some other companies do. They also, as far as I know, don't have human right violations or ravage the environment the way companies like Nestlé do.

I don't mean you specifically.

[–] BlameThePeacock@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago

That's just basic marketing at this point, hardly evil.

I know this community is “no stupid questions” but this is a stupid question.
