Wild to think that somebody born incredibly wealthy needs to do a lot of bullshit like this in order to make more money. He’s a true piece of shit.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 30 points 1 month ago

Line must always go up. And of course he wouldn't use his own money to keep being on a show

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He doesn't need money, he's a little prep school heir from step mommy with a father that also spent his life grifting for the republicans. What he needs is validation. He needs to feel like people aren't laughing at him. But they always are, and they always will. Same with trump - That's why they are now hoping to kill enough of the other side so that the only people left in the room are the ones who are not paying attention except to clap when they hear "freedom" or "woke".

Seriously though, the truth is that trump is 80 and he will statistically die relatively soon. The same fear applies, "they aren't going to laugh at me". Give him a chance and trump will literally throw the match in the gasoline soaked world behind him on the way out, just for the comfort that he won't be made fun of in death or properly exposed in full context by history.

He doesn't need money

No but as I said in another comment he's a money hungry cunt. We all are to an extent but there comes a point of wealth for a small subset of humans beyond which adding zeros to your bank balance is what's fuelling you. They can't stop themselves.

He is one of that small subset IMO.

Seriously though, the truth is that trump is 80 and he will statistically die relatively soon

I can't recommend Mike Duncan's "The History of Rome" podcast enough. The cult of personality is what led to the fall of the republic and the similarities to our current predicament are more than a bit disconcerting.

MAGA and the idea of challenging elections by force will never go away.

Inherited money often comes with strings attached, too, limiting what the heir can or can't do with it. And of course they often develop habits that need money before they've actually inherited any, so it's not surprising when they beat their own path to wealth anyway - usually helped along by their birth connections and by the fact that people know they'll eventually inherit significant wealth.

Also, we seem to always make this assumption that there's some amount of money that satisfies the craving for money, when there are plenty of signs that the super-wealthy almost always want more money regardless of how much they already have.

I mean after tucker spent an entire episode selectively editing out Kanye's antisemitic rants and then trying to portray it as a smear campaign by mainstream media.. why does anyone watch this moron still with the complete knowledge his stories are fully fabricated propaganda.

Tucker is a liar and a fraud. Of course he's also taking Russia money, probably saudi and musk money too.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 64 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Yes this, sure, but also he LITERALLY went to Russia, as they were invading Ukraine, and filmed some slop where he went into their supermarkets and walked around and said, "Hey... Now this is pretty fucking nice! They got broccoli and shit!"

It's so fucking naked.

Their shopping carts have a coin deposit-return system! I've never seen technology like this before!!!

[–] ChickenLadyLovesLife@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The best part was him saying that implementing this system in the US would fix homelessness - since homeless people use stolen shopping carts to carry shit around.

I think the thing that bothers me the most is he's like some university dandy whose dad married into inexaustible wealth who portrays himself as some cross between John Q Everyman, and Joseph Rogan. Impartial Journalist facade while directly taking RT money. Every aspect of this guy is a fraud,

Everything he says and does just screams "I am a fraud".

[–] Moah@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (5 children)

Just like Rush Limbaugh no one will ever think of him again when he's dead.

[–] iamanurd@midwest.social 10 points 1 month ago (2 children)

God damnit, now I’ve just thought of rush limbaugh.

Read a little deeper. Ever hear of Swanson dinners? Guess who his adopted mother is. His dad is the one who married into inexhaustible wealth, and he's been financially secure for most of his life, if not all of it. There are few people in America who could be less John Q Everyman.

If only he'd gone away into obscurity after Jon Stewart got Crossfire cancelled.

This isn't news to anyone paying a modicum of attention, but glad those in power are finally stating the obvious...

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 29 points 1 month ago

Specifically which influencers are directly working for Putin is new information.

[–] Snapz@lemmy.world 25 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Statements like "This isn't news" are never helpful. Something like that is really just meant for you to performatively proclaim, "I actually knew this already!"

Plenty of people who aren't as enlightened as you are just now learning or just coming of age to be politically aware. Maybe they were in one of the various operating religious/political cults in the world today sheltering them from objective reality. Leave some room for them to learn something new and feel ownership in that new awareness.

Just literally zero value in "duh! Tell me something I don't know!". If anything, it risks derailing the enthusiasm building in someone who wanted to help who now feels "stupid" and "not in the club" so they get quiet. Something useful enough in the second half of your statement though.

Also Jordan Peterson, I feel like it's weird he's being left out of this discussion considering how many people lap up his bile

The only reason this is surprising is because Carlson would be perfectly happy to do it without a paycheck.

In other news, grass is green and birds have wings.

But seriously, I don’t know how the American spy agencies have failed so horribly.

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

Of course Tuck is a Russian asset because he interviewed his Moscow boss, Vlad the Shit Stain.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 19 points 1 month ago

Did Trudeau just watch the Putin interview? If you look hard enough, you can see Putin's dick in Tucker's mouth.

[–] nkat2112@sh.itjust.works 14 points 1 month ago

Thank you for posting this. It's important that government leaders point out influencers who are working directly for Putin.

Tucker Carlson is the wonder spy Russians dream of eventually sneaking into the US presidency. Donald Trump is just the first step and likely too incompetent to serve their interests well. Frankly, I am surprised he was not Donald Trump's pick for vicepresident.

[–] model_tar_gz@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

He is a political entertainer/whore and Putin’s useful gimp. What was anyone really expecting from this guy? A dissertation on the causes of economic injustice and inequity?

[–] IchNichtenLichten@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

Trebuchet, straight across the Bering Straight. They can keep what's left of him.
