Summary

White male anger has repeatedly destabilized U.S. democracy, from defending slavery in the 18th century to opposing civil rights during the Cold War.

Today, this anger fuels support for Donald Trump, despite his authoritarian threats, legal troubles, and agenda that could harm the U.S. economy and global standing.

Trump’s appeal among white men reflects resistance to a multi-racial democracy, echoing past patterns where white supremacy was prioritized over national stability.

This anger now threatens to undermine the American democratic project once again.

America survived the white rage at desegregation, that's not the real reason why it's failing.

America is failing because, as predicted by everyone left of Reagan, neoliberalism has run its designated course and crippled the social institutions required for liberalism to function even for the "in" group.

The headline is a question, so the answer is no

Nope, America just isn't going to survive the stupidity of Americans in general.

Men, women, white, Latino, Muslim, Indians both native and India, to a lesser extent blacks, Jews and Asian Americans are all just mind bogglingly stupid.

Looking forward to it getting even worse with tik tok and the dismantling of the education department.

Has the Guardian never heard about how this state was concocted? It's always been pale genocidal bros.

Oh good. I'm sure glad the author took a step back to consider the voting demographics of the latest election instead of using a sexist and racist argument.

How useful.

It was white men and women who elected Trump, not really an inaccurate headline.
