Good thing Canada wants to buy a bunch, basically a parallel upgrade for the constantly breaking down F/18 jets 😂
(I do not condone the purchase, just think it's funny in a sad waste of money way)
Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.
Rules:
-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --
-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --
-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --
-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --
-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--
-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--
-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --
-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

being a Canadian is depressing af
In the meantime China added insult to injury developing Shenyang J-35 which both looks and is named incredibly similar to F-35, but it actually works good enough that PLAN will most likely order some for their carriers.
It's worth keeping in mind that while F35 is an absolute failure as a weapon, it's been a stellar success at doing what it's actually meant to do, which is to soak up as much tax money as humanly possible.
Exactly, and it's only a tip of the iceberg that got spilled up because they went too openly greedy with it.
Also it remind me when Poland constructed a bog standard corvette, but it ended up taking 19 years, costed so much you could buy 3 comparable corvettes in German shipyard and was ultimately finished as huge but barely armed patrol boat.
capitalist efficiency in action :)
Jesus, people were predicting this in 2001.
The Osprey is the greatest anti-imperialist force on the planet 🫡
America’s Flying Tesla Truck
lmao
Calling it America's flying cybertruck is the best and most accurate dig ever thrown at this project
“The Trump administration should bear in mind we’ve been flying the F-35 for 18 years and we still can’t maintain it, keep its stealth skin intact or shoot its gun straight,” Williams said in a statement.
Lol. Lmao.
keep its stealth skin intact
Did they ever fix the B2'a stealth coating being rinsed off by rain?
I once worked with a lady who's husband did maintenance work on f-35s or something like that. I commented that he probably has his hands full just keeping them from falling apart. She was confused and said they're actually really solid and reliable... I still don't believe her.
he was confused and said they're actually really solid and reliable
Maybe she meant as a family source of income?
I remember being a kid born in burgerland and thinking that the F35 was the coolest shit ever.
Finding it out to be garbage is a pretty good metaphor for my radicalization journey and current view of the US
