That's what the blinking red light on top is for.

Also it's a fixed object. It ain't gonna be a surprise when it's just sitting there. I don't hear hear them whining that we should mow down the Rockies.

FWIW they are complaining that it's too close to airport approaches, so they can't just avoid the area without moving the airports.
