you won't get any argument from me. these folks are the same ones telling me that I'm pro-war (generally in not such nice terms) because I want to avoid the abject horrors of a dictatorship; but apparently I'm just paranoid and overreacting.

Feels like the automotive world is in utter chaos. I do believe in EVs and hybrids but manufacturers have focused on the premium segment to their own detriment. If they had started with the MVP instead of a flagship things might be in a different situation.

Yes, I am an aware of the Tesla strategy of starting high end but they seem to have abandoned that goal in favor of prestige meme wagons.

It ain’t just young people. I’ve got a lot of lefty friends and family who have been lost and are willing to gamble on turnip because they think there is no way to handle things worse than we are now.

IMHO, he's hedging his bets. turnip isn't exactly a barr fan so he's calculating that he'll stay off the list after the next election. he knows that nothing he says matters and so is laying the groundwork to keep his head.

Right, first thing I thought when I read this is “where can I get some of that ‘cheese’”

Well, I’m grateful for the callout anyway :).

Yes, the US. You are right and I should have been more specific. My apologies.

well, I've got other stuff going on, depression and a brain injury last year that I'm still working through. on top of that, as a kid in the 80's I was tested for ADD but at the time they were more looking at the inattentive behaviours. however, I'm pretty sure I'm the other side of that coin and ADHD didn't become a thing (at least mainstream) 'til several years later.

anyway thanks, I really appreciate the advice.

thanks, I do appreciate it. it's a me problem though that I'm working on.

part of it is I suffered a brain injury last year and I'm still unsure if my faculties are fully intact.

I do believe it, more self critical than anything but I'm working on it :)

Good advice, thanks. I am not ruling out medication, but I would hesitate to put one of my kids on it if they were diagnosed and so I am hesitant for the same reasons. The reason I’d like a diagnosis though is that I am pathologically unable to act without data. I’d feel like a complete imposter at an ADHD event unless I was sure I was one of the ranks.
