Yeah I’m pretty happy with its current activity level

Those people definitely exist, but for some reason they’re more well behaved than other communities. I think the lobby system helps a lot because the good players can self-select to avoid noob stomping.

If you do return, I highly recommend a mod called Mental Omega. It adds sub factions for yuri, a whole new faction, and has four new campaigns. At this point Mental Omega has more content than all of the 2.5d games combined.

Toyota RAV4 is nice. Especially the hybrid

Edit: never mind you mentioned that

Get any Infiniti with a 3g antenna. The network doesn’t exist anymore so it can’t phone home.

A lot of medium skill people still play, surprisingly. I’m not good at all and still have roughly a 70% win rate.

The patch most heavily nerfs France, Iraq, and most importantly, Yuri.

It also fixes a metric fuck ton of bugs. Someone even managed to patch the engine to fix the input delay on lower game speeds.

I’ve seen people play it on the Steam deck but it’s not easy to control.

If you get back into multiplayer then use cncnet. They have a balance patch.

I thought Generals and C&C 3 looked good, but I hated Red Alert 3. They tried too hard to make it Star Craft 2.

[-] AlexWIWA@lemmy.ml 2 points 4 days ago

Yes. But they need to be very careful to keep that bleak and hopeless aesthetic.

I tried, I really really tried not to soy face when they revealed Thrawn. But it overpowered me. The sight of a book character being on screen overpowered my will, my mouth fell agape and I full on soy faced. I even kicked my feet a little.

Like a thousand YouTube clickbait thumbnails before me, I collapsed under the weight of immense hype.

I was trying to submit a comment today when it said I couldn't comment in this language. My account default is set to English, but I don't see a way in memmy to select the language for my specific comment.

I'm stretching the definition of "app" here but Lemmy appears to be a progressive web app, so if you click "add to home screen" in iOS then the icon for Lemmy will open up a captive web browser that behaves like any other app.

It's not as fast as an actual app, but it feels very similar to using one. Most apps are just react-native these days anyway.
