Yeah, I agree with you that anyone abbreviating Discovery as "STD" is doing it just to be obtuse. That said, the abbreviation rules aren't quite as consistent as I'd like.

  1. If it's the original Star Trek series, it's abbreviated TOS (The Original Series).
  2. If it's a spin off with a multi-word subtitle (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), it's abbreviated as an initialism of the subtitle (TNG, DS9, SNW).
  3. If it's a spin off with a single-word subtitle (Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise, Star Trek: Prodigy), it's abbreviated with the first three letters of the subtitle (VOY, ENT, PRO).

There are two series which violate these rules.

  1. Discovery violates rule 3 by being abbreviated as DSC, instead of DIS.
  2. Lower Decks violates rule 2 by being abbreviated LOW, instead of LD.

I don't know the music video, but this might help: Wikipedia - Recursive islands and lakes.

But second girl only ever sees how first girl acts when she is around (regardless of who else is there). That's how perception works. She can't see how first girl acts when she's not there, because she wouldn't be there to see it.

You said Type-1 (the compact, key fob looking TOS phaser), but linked a picture to the TOS Type-2 (the pistol). Which did you prefer?

I love the concept of the Type-1, and it would definitely be my favorite pick of the phasers based on function. But for how it looks, I like how the TNG Type-2 kinda blended the TOS Type-1 concept as a tool, but sized it up to the TOS Type-2 pistol in size. Best of both worlds. Still feels like a tool, but more power drill, less garage door opener or handgun.

EDIT: my autocorrect kept messing up the link.

I want to toss the Type-2 phaser from Star Trek (circa 24th century) as my personal favorite. It has this design which reads as a tool more than a weapon, which I love.

Practice, I guess?

To combat jet lag, or otherwise reset your sleep schedule if it has drifted...

  1. Go 24 hours without eating.

  2. Go to bed early enough to make sure you get 8-10 hours before you normally want to wake up.

  3. Using an alarm, wake up a bit earlier than you usually want to wake up.

  4. Make a big breakfast, eating when you normally want to wake up.

Now your body will have reset its circadian rhythm, and you'll naturally wake up at that time.

Say what you will about the game, but IRL does a decent job of switching up the meta on a regular basis. Though it's pretty frustrating when you figure out a decent strat, and then next season it's useless.
