I know the feeling! SNW's theme and opening credits definitely bring back memories of eagerly looking forward to TNG every week. It's easily my favorite Trek theme since TNG.
Disgustoid
Wow, these SNW writers really bring it each week, don't they? Not to say every episode is perfect but I've found every single one to be very entertaining and exactly what I want out of Star Trek in 2023. The combination of standalone stories mixed with underlying character development and arcs is perfect.
As for this week, the idea of encountering a planet that could make you forget everything was weirdly creepy, if not a bit implausible. Even if this wasn't her showcase episode, I grinned at Ortega's "I AM THE PILOT!" moment. Also enjoyed the away team being out of sorts on the planet which I thought was well done and not an action overdose like the season opener.
I can't believe I'm rooting for Zuckerberg over that walking shitstain Musk here. WTAF.
I was using Reddit mobile to follow some interests that don't have any communities on Lemmy yet and noticed the obscene number of awards on that ad. How in the world did that happen?
I'm really enjoying seeing the Lemmy communities I follow grow noticeably in just the past few days and hope people stick with it.
You misunderstand--I almost never post on them, but I actually want more Lemmy cat pic communities which provide an endless source of cuteness and entertainment amidst the doomscrolling. But to each their own, of course.
Definitely more prolific thus far considering all the communities I've found on Lemmy so far are for hobbies and interests, and not just the slew of assorted cat pic subreddits I was subscribed to on Reddit. I'm sure the latter will come in time though.
Same here--wefwef is amazingly solid for such an early product.
If Sync for Lemmy gets off the ground and is anywhere near as good as the Reddit version, I'll probably switch to that since it was easily my most used Android app before Reddit lost its mind.
If you're not a fan of high information density, I recommend Overdrop. It presents the key information in a simple, clear way.
Also been testing Weather Today which seems to be another good one in the few weeks I've had it.
That's certainly one way to begin a social media detox along with Reddit's idiocy over third party apps. This will make it much easier to ignore Twitter since I deleted my account there and have no intention of signing up again just to view tweets.
I agree. I'm usually the first to complain when it's obvious a show/movie needed an editor to cut unnecessary filler but this this episode used its time well IMO.
I don't know if we'll ever see a full episode with flashbacks to everything he's been through, but oddly enough I don't mind the intentionally vague references to it so far--leaves it open for our imaginations (and fan fiction) to fill in the gaps.
