id say use the soical media in a browser and if u dont need a account use it over tor and all the people on telegram,messanger and whatsapp tell them about the privacy concerns with these apps and try and get them to move to simplexchat or matrix (especially if you self host) so theres no real drawback because they dont require any info of yours to work

another option if you want a hybrid is host a jellyfin instance with your music youbcan even install a lrclib plugin and get pretty good lyrics

lineage os has a pretty extensive device support or in theroy you could compile base android with none of the spookieness or bloat.

i used to use startpage before switching to searxng and its pretty good just the mobile app they beckon you to download is garbage and just chromium with a startpage paint job over it but if you just want the search engine for another browser its prob one the best

i use gentoo because i love the package manager and how in control i am of my desktop and for servers even though not linux ive been using open bsd because of secure it is and lightweight helps squeeze out little bit more performance from mt shit vps lol
