I love Connect more with every update!

I'm not sure this is the place to put a question/request but I actually quite liked NSFW images being a single block of color. The blur is perfectly fine, but it would be nice to have an option for a color block over NSFW images. Part of the reason I switched to Connect from Jerboa is that Jerboa's blur was so bad, I could see explicit things through it. Connect's is much better, so it's not necessary to get a color block option.

Anyway there's my two cents. Thank you for all the work you've done on this app - it really is incredible to me how much has been done, and how well it works.

This is what I came to suggest! I love Tasker! It definitely can feel daunting when you first start out, but there are lots of guides and tutorials out there to help.

To be honest, the data collection was enough to keep me on Connect instead of Sync. With that being said, I was excited for the release of Sync. It wasn't my primary app on Reddit, but having developers for Lemmy apps is great, and the developers who had successful Reddit apps already have a solid idea of what to do. Sync is not finished, so there are valid complaints to be made! But it also already looks more polished than Connect in many ways, in my opinion.

In terms of the price point, I don't actually think it's unreasonable. There's a one-time lifetime purchase available, and as I understand it the app is being developed by a single developer trying to support himself. I get that the price might be outside of some people's casual spending range, but luckily there's a free version with ads (and many, many other free apps without).

I wish I could, but I'm in the US. And on the Google Play store it says data can't be deleted, so I'm assuming that since I'm not in the EU, there will be no leniency for me. The more I think about it, the less I want to deal with it, personally. With that being said, I recognize that not everyone will agree with me, and of course that's perfectly fine.

Except for data shared in the moments before I purchase, sure. Which is what leaves me on the fence, to be honest. Hopefully there will be more info about how this is handled soon.

This is exactly why I haven't downloaded it - I was looking forward to Sync for Lemmy, and I've been using Connect in the meantime. But Connect doesn't collect any data, according to Google Play, and Sync does. I'm on the fence about paying to keep my data my own, at this point.

Absolutely! I'm glad it helped!

Have you checked your block list? I believe someone else recently discovered they accidentally blocked an entire instance, or something along those lines.

There was a post recently about NSFW tags possibly not federating properly, and I wonder if that might be what you're running into.

In terms of a real, solid solution, I don't know what the best course of action is. But as a band-aid solution, you could try an app that allows for in-app server blocking. Lemmy itself doesn't allow users to block an entire server, but Connect at least (and probably others) allow it on the app side. But it wouldn't help on anything other than the app, so it's definitely not the ideal solution.
