Thankfully it is easy to not connect them. The newest TV I bought I connected it once via Ethernet during setup to get the latest software, then unplugged it. Has been working fine for a year with no issue.

My battery health has degraded over the year or so I've had the 15 PM, but it's in normal range (89% with 272 charge cycles) and the change was noticed pretty immediately after upgrading to iOS 18.

I have been noticing my battery life being lower after the 18 and 18.0.1 update on the 15PM. It feels like I'm ending my day with less than 20% battery when before I was over 30% easily.

It still gets me through the day, but not as comfortably.

Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. I don't think most people understand that, and it will lead to people losing faith in experts when they're told inflation is back to pre-pandemic levels but prices aren't.

[-] InvaderDJ@lemmy.world 16 points 2 months ago

People don't understand this about inflation and it will disappoint them very soon once inflation is fully back to rates we saw pre-pandemic.

Grocery prices aren't coming down. Housing prices aren't going down. Utility costs aren't going down. The best we can hope for is for them to not increase as fast as they have the last four years and for the usual fluctuations in things like gas or electricity costs to fluctuate down more than up.

And the most recent trailer also has a fairly large cameo spoiler too. So if you care, now is a good time to stop looking up info on the movie until you see it.

It's funny, I think Vegas is perfectly fine as the city of sin so things like this really don't phase me. It was built on the idea of crime and excess.

What does seem weird to me is how in a desert, why isn't everything solar? The sun is their only natural resource besides sand. Every rooftop and parking lot and flat surface possible seems like it should be a panel.

That embezzlement conviction of Dalongeville, is both damning and an interesting look at the problem. Liberalism and leftism haven't solved problems that common people actually experience. The right hasn't either and has no real plan to, they just bother to talk about it and give common people a boogie man that they can aim their anger at.

It is frustrating to me how these parties on left barely even try to make people's lifes better. To show them why more leftist or socialist policies are the way to go. It has been proven time and time again throughout history that in times of financial insecurity, normal people are easily swayed by far right strongmen and demonization of a weaker other. Why does the left continue to fail at preventing this?

[-] InvaderDJ@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

It also feels like their insistence is doing nothing but hurting them. The average consumer who doesn't know the difference between a local account and a Microsoft account won't know or care about MS doing this.

But the users who do have a preference and do want a local account are just going to be irritated at it and give them bad press. They'll eventually figure out how to make a local account anyway and it may be the push they need to migrate off of Windows.

[-] InvaderDJ@lemmy.world 10 points 4 months ago

Oh, I didn't even think about that. Definitely makes sense.

In a Korean car too which is funny.

What does the BODG stand for?

It really feels like drug users' demand for drugs that don't kill them would create a market for artisanal drugs, like with the alcohol industry.

If I had any interest in hard drugs, I would be terrified to use them now. I know we're dealing with addicts who aren't making good decisions, but aren't there wealthy coke fiends? How can anyone snort lines at a party if they don't know if it has all this lethal shit in it?

It's a little rough this week, even for a speed sub group like OPScans. Hopefully they're able to get a higher quality one up soon.

Early spoilers out.

::: spoiler Chapter 1,088: "The last lesson".

One Piece Live-Action series special Color Spread!! We can see Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji in the front (in fighting pose) and the faces of Shanks, Koby, Buggy, Kuro, Garp, Mihawk, Arlong, and Krieg (or Smoker, not 100% sure) in the background. The sentence "tomorrow studio x Netflix" appears too.

Chapter starts with a flashback in the old Marineford. Garp is teaching a class for new Marines. Koby is in the class too, it's his first lesson (he has the same appearance as in East Blue arc). Garp asks a question to all new Marines.

Garp: "If 1 baby and 1 old man get stranded on an island, and you have a boat that can hold only 2 people... Who would you save?"

Koby: "I would get down from the boat myself, so both of them can live."

Garp: "You are wrong!! The old man doesn't have much time left anyway, so you just let him die!! Why did you all become Marines? Isn't it to protect the people's "future"? Then, you and the baby have more future than the old man. Only you and the baby must live on!!"

After the lesson, Garp is scold by a Marine instructor. He asks Garp to never teach such things again, since all people's lives are equal. Garp disagrees.

Garp: "The future of young people is limitless!!"

Then we cut to another flashback at Amazon Lily, after Boa Hancock's incident some days ago. Blackbeard agrees to leave Amazon Lily, however he's taking 800 Marines and a battleship with him. Vice admiral Yamakaji only stands and watches since "Marine HQ" didn't give permission to fight a Yonkou.

However, Koby steps up and offers Blackbeard to take him as prisoner instead of his men. Vice admiral Yamakaji allows him to do it since Koby is a SWORD member.

Back to present. Everyone on Garp's battleship is panicking. They shoot at the giant hand but cannot stop it.

Then all three of them immediately move on Garp's orders. Pirates are laughing, thinking Koby, Helmeppo and Grus can't do anyting without Garp.

Grus asks Koby why Garp entrusted him with destroying the giant hand. He wonders if Koby has a bomb or something like that to destroy it. Koby replies he hasn't any weapon, but he will try to do something.

Pirates shoot at them, Helmeppo blocks a bullet with his sword and gets caught up in an explosion.

Garp stands up and faces Kuzan. He punches Kuzan to the ground, moving so fast that Kuzan is surprised. Then Garp jumps on roofs toward the skull and attacks it.

Garp: "Galaxy Divide!!!" Pizarro: "Ugyaaaaa—!!!"

Garp uses a massive attack that splits the skull in two, making Pizarro's real body heavily injured with blood coming out of his head. Grus and Koby follow Garp.

Koby then jumps into the air facing Pizarro's giant hand. Pizarro is in pain, but he can still move. So he swings his hand down to crush Garp's battleship in revenge.

Then another flashback starts, back to the time when Koby and Helmeppo first joined the Marines.

We see Garp and Helmeppo talking in the training field that we saw on the cover story. Garp noticed that Koby manages to improve very fast, but he has an abnormal amount of injuries on his hands and shoulders.

Helmeppo says Koby doesn't want him to tell anyone, but the fact is that Koby knows he has less fighting skills than a normal person. So to make up for it, he needs to train between 100-200 times harder than other people.

Helmeppo says too that Koby has been training in secret every night by punching Garp's "battleship bag".

Cut to present, Garp is smiling while he remembers that training. All pirates are laughing at Koby, saying there's no way he can stop the giant hand. Pirates say the "Hero" title must have gotten into his head.

Koby is about to attack the giant hand.

Koby: "If I can't do this, everyone will die because of me... "Honesty Impact"!!!" Pizarro: "Owaaa—h!!!"

Koby punches and destroys the entire giant arm in an epic double spread (we can see black lightning from the impact). We see that Pizarro is screaming in pain as his real arm is breaking.

Garp is laughing in tears while both Helmeppo and Grus are shocked.Grus uses a technique called "Clay Web" to create a giant clay net to stop the falling stones and save Garp's battleship. Koby, Helmeppo and Grus end up safely on the battleship.

Garp calls everyone on the battleship with a den den mushi.

Garp: "All of you, full speed ahead and sail away from "Hachinosu" right now!!.I will find a way to survive on my own. Our mission is already completed, and your safety is the most important thing!!"

Koby cries and tells the ship to head back, but Grus stops him (he's in tears too). Garp continues.

Garp: 'All of you are the "future of the Marines"!!!'

In the last double spread, Garp is lying on the ground with an ice blade stabbed on his chest. He's surrounded by all Blackbeard Pirates and Kuzan.

Garp is still laughing as ice is spreading from his wound. We see Kuzan's face but his eyes are hidden, making his expression unknown...

Narrator: "In the next day's newspaper, the news that are reported to the world are...

The "young hero Koby" returned safely.

The "legendary hero Garp" disappeared at Hachinosu (the "Pirate Island").

"Yonkou Straw Hat Luffy" is taking Egghead Island as his stronghold."

In the final panel of the chapter, we see that Marines' ships are arriving at Egghead Island...
