What makes you think suspending an election is going to tip the scales?

Mostly that at least right now there's hope for midterms to change things in Congress and then the presidential election to get Trump out. Right now we still have the trappings of a Republic. I think if elections got suspended all belief in a peaceful solution will be erased and people will react.

You have a point though, bread and circuses go a long way towards kowtowing the population. That and the risk of death at the hands of the state. I don't know where the line is that people will readily accept potentially getting shot especially if they're in white man suburbia.

It's our Republic and I think while what is happening now is despicable it won't push enough people. Suspending elections. ... That will rouse the nation.

Me with literally everything code I touch always and forever.

I will say I've found LLM useful for code writing but I'm not coding anything real at work. Just bullshit like SQL queries or Excel macro scripts or Power Automate crap.

It still fucks up but if you can read code and have a feel for it you can walk it where it needs to be (and see where it screwed up)

I think the point missed by a lot of people is that the immigrants are experiencing even worse lives and living conditions. Even after they immigrate.

Also, the whole "they took err jerbs" thing, really just spits in the face of economic theory and ...idk... Reality? Jobs exist because of demand for them and that demand goes up as more people join your society. Jobs aren't being "taken " from anyone. It's not like there's some imaginary pool of jobs that once they're gone they're gone.

Now, caveat, it's more complex than that but this whole notion of jobs being "stolen" is just a false narrative used to stoke the fires of infighting amongst us proles while the rich laugh at the top.

Life is politics, people enjoy trying to make this clean divisible line between "talking politics" and everything else but that line is non-existent.

Politics touches everything we do and interact with. Literally name anything and there will be some sort of rules and laws around it that impact whatever the topic of discussion is.

I thought the force awakens was pretty decent. I mean it's literally just a new hope redux.
