I was once among a group of (fellow) university-educated expats, during a stint living abroad in the 2000s. While we were socializing, somebody asked everyone to say what group of people they would make disappear. (I can't remember if it was kill/erase/nuke/remove from a map that was said, but a couple of variations along those lines.) People's answers that day (and their insistence that I, too, should "jokingly" hate some group of people and want them to die) taught me a lot. On top of that, I also am part of one of the groups that was named (no, I am not mixed race-- it was just ignorance on the guy's part that he not only thought I wasn't part of the group but also that when I made a "joke" of what he said, he thought telling me that I didn't seem like part of that group was supposed to make it better somehow).

What forms of profit-making are you proposing that can grow infinitely without consuming any resources?

It's been a while since I read about this, but as I recall, most animals (might just be mammals) won't die of cancer without genetic modification. They have immune system factors that humans are currently considered not to have. (Either that or we eat too much food for it to work, depending where the research is going these days, lol.)

The US called their residential schools "boarding schools," but I don't know if those had the same kind of lasting legacy Canada has, based on the schools they had in the US.

Or juice "profits." (I've never understood people having cereal with juice, but maybe it works with Apple Jacks.)

So many Martin Shkrelis out there pricing drugs to the highest level they can get away with. Every big pharmaceutical company does this kind of thing, especially with new drugs.

I feel like that would make me some edgy child, messing around with legos or playdough.

Absolutely. I'm sure high infant mortality rates had a huge influence on the parts of Hammurabi's Code that got adapted into laws in the Bible. Until it could survive on its own, a fetus was basically the property of the would-be father (though so was the would-be mother, yuck), so they were obviously quite desensitized.

Fair point, my choice of wording wasn't precise. But comparing indigenous peoples would be even more complicated.

I only asked you to think twice about punching down, dude. Go ahead and block me if you think that's "trolling."

If I see someone saying harmful things (whether they realize it or not) about misunderstood people that don't deserve to be made fun of, I'm going to comment (unless it's obvious bait).

Actually, even in Bronze Age myths, life begins when the baby takes its first breath. If anyone wants, you can listen to an in-depth (and often very funny) discussion on Data Over Dogma's "Abortion and the Bible" episode here.

"Day-ruining," seriously? Try comparing apples to apples.
