I never pay attention to, or care about where a community is hosted

People like that are gonna cause accidents anyways.

Studies have shown that accidents are more likely to be severe/fatal on wide, straight roads.

I agree, but I'm pointing out that they do indeed help if implemented correctly

Traffic Cameras can and do reduce speeding if implemented properly

Narrowing roads and making them less straight also lowers speeding

Where are you getting this 5% number?

Unpopular opinion, I agree.

Sorry but this is wildly oversimplified. I walk and take an e-scooter almost exclusively and couldn't possibly hope to gather all the information about my city happenings.

Proposed plans by my councillors are often not posted on posters or billboard on my street, and the ones that are may not give me sufficient detail.

And aside from politics, cafe's a 60min+ walk away are never going to be advertising their events on my street lol.

Also yes of course far more people should go to council meeting in-person, but often work or other responsibilities can get in the way.

You realize you’re shaming people on Lemmy, the people who clearly already support a more privacy centric and less profit-driven approach to social media.

We don’t live in a Utopia where all 7 billion people have already followed suit, and shaming won’t help. Providing a welcoming community will.

Total noob, but I set up TrueNAS/Nextcloud on an old laptop and it's working great locally.

What would be the easiest secure way to access my files remotely from my phone and/or laptop?

EDIT: I needed to advertise 10.0.0.0/24 NOT 10.0.0.26/24 lol

Is this an option that exists or could be added in the future?

30% off would make the pricing feel less steep

Quake Pro League Championship-Final Day is live now, top 6 players left. The format is 1v1 Duel

If you aren't familiar, Quake Champions is a free-to-play shooter on Steam and, in my opinion the best fps Esport. If you log in now you'll get a free Quake Con 2023 skin :)

Tune in at 9am CDT/10am EST to watch the first day of Quake Con Finals!

The competitions continues on the 11th and 12th where the eventual 2023 Champion will be crowned

Will be streamed on https://www.twitch.tv/quake and https://www.youtube.com/@Quake

If you aren't familiar with QuakeChampions, it's a free to play PC shooter and, in my opinion, the current best fps Esport on the market.

I main Firefox but, want a Chromium browser for Android/Windows that I can use occasionally.

What are your preferred choices?

Edit: okay I tested out a lot of your suggestions and found Vivaldi to by my favourite so far :) thanks y'all

I find i get logged out of sites a ton on Firefox on iOS after very little time

Is there any setting or something I could do to change this? Or is it just a bug/intentional feature?

Mostly an issue on Android using Firefox, altho it's happened a few times using Brave as well

If I try and log into my instance, I try to type it in and the keyboard just constantly flickers

On Pixel 7 Pro

Any fix? Sorry if posted already, I scrolled through and didn’t see this posted
