Just whats been around tbh. Some old speakers with a cheap bluetooth amplifier board f.e. One of my flatmates added his PC speakers with subwoofer and we got a sourround system running along side it. Didn't spend anything just connected whats been already around.
I think its really great. Im using the server component together with spotifyd and then have the clients running on a few different devices. The sync is really good and you can adjust the delay of each device in the web interface. I mostly needed that because of a bluetooth speaker and a sound receiver which delays always by 250ms no matter the input. But now i have music blasting from every room and you can ealk from room to room and dont hear any delay. You can even have different soundsystems in the same room and it is not even noticable that there are different devices playing. I totally recommend it for a music multiroom setup. On my main pc i've even added it as an audio output device with pipewire :)
Have you tried snapcast. I've been quite successful with it.
I don't think this is the right way to go if another Server advice's its users to engage with everybody else on the fediverse in the best manner. The point here picked only seem to reflect the world views of the admin which cant be discussed or challenged. I guess this is fine because everybody can search for another server but if the server team here cares about its users opinions I'd like to voice my disagreement and would love to have this decision maybe put up to a vote / test period or something similar. Even If I will switch to another instance, thank you for providing this server.
Jellyfin ftw ;)
Synapse runs absolutely fine for me. But im only hosting for a few users
Im using the ansible matrix playbook with synapse for 3 users and a bunch of bridges. I choose this because I used to setup my docker container and everything myself up but i absolutely dont want any downtime on my communications just because a config is not perfectly setup. If im out and about i want to still be reached. The playbook makes it really simple and takes care of everything i want. Even things like sliding sync are setup with one line added to the config. https://github.com/spantaleev/matrix-docker-ansible-deploy
Thats reall nice
Well that's exactly what peertube does to distribute the load of serving the videos
Wow how haven't i heard of hubzilla before? Wow autocorrect doesn't recognize it either😄 And thank you for the excellent write up.
such a great episode. love it
Theoretically of course :D The Software side shouldn't be that hard either so if you get the motor somehow connected you could get fancy rumble instead of the haptic feedback which you can currently enable.
