Update on my plant. Unfortunately it might be sick, it has been getting worse ever since I brought it home (lemmy.ca)

Every day I find a few leaves on the ground. I read online that it might be root rot so I have been avoiding giving it water.

I might try to take it out of the pot and remove the bad roots. Does anyone have experience with removing bad roots?

I want to take better care of my house plants. I got this plant recently, does anyone have tips? (lemmy.ca)
 

The label says "Schefflera".

  • 4/5 for sunlight
  • 2.5/5 for water
  • 5-25 for temperature
  • Moderate for fertilizer

After I brought it home, I see that some of the leaves are turning dark and falling off. I don't know why.
