It really says “Starfleet emulating Klingons” doesn’t it?

I have no difficulty on my IOS phone. I’ve done it all that way. ( It may be why I’m having difficulty sharing the url with the pinned template though.)

You do have to login through Lemmy to get started. Then you have to choose the colour of the pixel to enable it.

I loved the episode. I’m not a huge fan of American musical theatre, but this really worked for me and my partner.

The tone was just right and the songs were well matched to the skills and characters. It’s delightful.

It was also really nice to come to this community and soak up all the positivity. I really needed a place to come like this after watching episodes. As we see it a bit later on CTV Sci-fi Channel in Canada, I can often feel blasted with fan backlash when I check out people’s views after watching.

Yes, there are a few folks here for whom this isn’t there kind of thing, and they are letting us know. We’ve not however seeing brigading negativity that is cropping up on some other social media. I can appreciate that some want their Trek more dignified and serious, but the ‘worst thing ever’ hyperbole is a bit hard to take when Threshold and Code of Honor exist.

This appears to be region locked.

Hopefully, StarTrek.com will post a global region-free version tomorrow.

Two versions of the Klingons!

The alternate opera version had better be an outtake special feature on the BlueRay.

Christina Chong just released an album.

And different music for the end credits as well!

One of the questions I always have about Lwaxana regarding Picard and Odo is whether she was actually incorrect in her telepathic understanding of their feelings about her.

We saw that she was an incredibly powerful telepath. Riker observed right from her first visit to Enterprise that she always knew exactly what you were thinking and let you know it. She makes no distinction between what people say verbally vs what she’s hearing telepathically. And as Riker notes, she calls people on their thoughts all the time.

In the show, Picard and Odo’s protests that they have no interest imply that Luaxana’s telepathy is failing when it comes to men of her age that she finds attractive. Basically, she’s shown as being so desperate for love as an older woman that she’s getting their thoughts wrong.

But do we actually have evidence that her telepathy is compromised when she hears others’ thoughts about herself?

Quite the contrary. Even when distracted by her own situation she was able to uncover major threats to the Federation.

In personal relations then, if what she heard didn’t line up with what they were saying, and she persisted based on what she heard from their minds, should it be considered harassment?

Here’s a possible workaround - JustWatch offers a listing of all tv shows and movies on Paramount+.

I seem to be able to do this from my browser without setting up an account. With country set to Canada, I see that there are 708 titles.

At Vulcon 30 last weekend, there was a silent auction for private dinners ‘for you and 4 friends’ with Bruce Horak and Emily Coutts.

Vulcan AB certainly seems to have a vibe.

It seems the top executives get it, but Paramount Global communications seems to be deeply United States focused.

Simon & Schuster - a Paramount Global subsidiary that they are trying to sell off - does have distribution outside the US, but only ever includes the US on its webpages.

Some other licensed tie-in publishers will even claim that their products are available for all of North America via the US Amazon.com platform and that’s it.

It looks people in Canada like me can get the download through both Amazon.ca as well as the US site in this case. It’s not posted to Amazon.uk yet but it may be lagging a few days.

Carol Kane is known for her work on Broadway, not just film and television. She had a main role in the musical Wicked.

Unfortunately, I don’t see her listed on the soundtrack. Perhaps she no longer sings.

Rebecca Romjin was the one in a G&S touring company.
