But seriously, as I've often explained to my wife, it makes no sense to put a thousand dollars into our savings account to earn 5% while we owe a thousand on our credit card being charged at 20%.

The entire internet seems to be filled with people engaging the fascists and trump sycophants, trying to force them to admit the hypocrisies and inconsistencies in their positions, but it's pointless. These people don't deserve that much credit or respect. Ignorance is an explanation at best, not an excuse.
