When that happens the tools report no icon.

At least for me, the ic_launcher layers are reported as mipmaps and are always at same locations, so I don't what is the block here to automatic retrieval of icons. I do not mean to insult, I am just suggesting how to automate it even further and with more compatibility.

I connect to the Internet via cellphone which makes uploading painful.

That's too relatable...

Less than a dozen corrections on more than 400 games isn’t so many.

That's really only because I pointed out games I know personally. There might be more PDs in list, that show debug icon because they did not set non-layered icon properly.

Also, here's a question: do all mod and zaystringofnumbers mods do translations? or there is something else?

Rearranged PD uses debug icons which is incorrect.

My own guess for why there is so many incorrect icons is:

a) you choose icons manually, which is not really a good thing, if this thing is supposed to be automated

b) your tools just pick ic_launcher.png... which is incorrect choice for many post-2019 forks due to actual two-layer format of icon, composed of foreground and background pngs; you should compose a full icon, if those layer files are available

Also, a fatal flaw: all download links point to your local file system, so they are useless to anyone who doesn't have access to your I: hard drive.

Extended Experienced PD entry shows Serenity PD icon.

Shorter PD entry uses Minecraft PD icon.

Rat King Adventures entry uses EZ Dungeon icon.

Experienced PD 1.x is not present (it's a different mod from Experienced PD 2.x).

There was nothing noteworthy on floor 1.

Also, China (on question of bombs being too modern for middle ages).

This is the last official version of Experienced Pixel Dungeon, Redone or otherwise. No more bugfixes, ports to latest Shattered, or new content. That's the end of the line.

2024 is anniversary to many things, including this mod, as 4 years have passed since the first release of that silly grinding mod with many things to do; but since then, the tumor has only grown larger...

You might have noticed, that large amount of content haven't really changed since its first year of 2020-2021. After that, I just fixed bugs and ported Shattered's new releases, with big things only happening once a year. It almost became an another job, that I did to keep its legacy going further and further, sometimes even at expense of project I actually enjoyed, like Summoning.

And then it really took off in 2023. My email started being flooded with reviews and emails about how it is the best game they played, or reported game breaking glitches. The legacy design didn't stand up very well, and breaking integer barriers is bond to make things wrong. But I kept going. For honor, for people, to keep the tumor alive...

I hated it, but I told myself, than I should do it. It's the most popular mod of mine, why I would cancel it? What would happen to those PD fans, that enjoyed grinding? But just like cancer, playing or making ExpPD results in never ending pain.

So I am ending it. For my own sake. You may not be happy. But I am happy. Than the beast is slain.

It depends on your scale of dedication to exact definitions.

Holiday foods are deliberately designed to be nice subversions of pasty, but not something you would depend on (mostly due to rarity).

Dimensional Sundial is a reference to vanilla's day and night differences, and could be seen as detrimental, depending on how you handle increased spawns. Also you choose to invest into it and don't get it every time.

This release ports stuff from Shattered 2.5.2. Nothing else to say, really, the merging process went relatively smoothly.

(2.0.1 hotfix was uploaded, fixing Abyssal Spawner being invincible and Metamorphosis cursed effect crashing the game on cancelling.)

Download it here: https://github.com/TrashboxBobylev/Rat-King-Adventure/releases/tag/2.0.1

This update has been in works for over two months, but you can now finally enjoy Rat King Adventure as Duelist, with all new talents and third subclass, while challenging an updated Abyss!

the process was me scrolling through threads on discord or reddit and then judging ideas that came up in them

Today is July 26th; 10 years ago, watabou released source code for Pixel Dungeon, creating a modding community for it.

Community Pixel Dungeon is a symbol of community being able to achieve that and evolve this community into what we know today.

Thank you all.

This mod has been conceptualized back in October as dedicated thing for 10th anniversary of Pixel Dungeon becoming free and open source software, but only now I dedicated the time to start making it. The core idea is that I am not the one, who design the features and new items, it’s people from community of this game!

This pre-release adds 17 more ideas to the pack, including ideas from Reddit and Lemmy posts and ideas from archived ideas channel on PD discord, bringing total number up to 37, all of which can be seen here: https://gist.github.com/TrashboxBobylev/98aa9c667af73c56bbae91413fe22a24

The horror I will have to feel on adapting this for using millions of scrolls at once...

Here's gist I assembled (it is directly written from game's changes screen): https://gist.github.com/TrashboxBobylev/98aa9c667af73c56bbae91413fe22a24

The post has been updated with a link to 0.1.1 hotfix and the link to list of all features currently in the mod.

This mod has been conceptualized back in October as dedicated thing for 10th anniversary of Pixel Dungeon becoming free and open source software, but only now I dedicated the time to start making it. The core idea is that I am not the one, who design the features and new items, it's people from community of this game!

Currently this mod has 20 unique features from ideas of 21 people on PD's discord, all listed here: https://gist.github.com/TrashboxBobylev/98aa9c667af73c56bbae91413fe22a24

Fixes some of urgent bugs, like crashes with trinkets or telekinetic grab.

That's mostly all, there is also some balance tweaks to forgotten things like Vampiric.

This release ports stuff from Shattered 2.3 and 2.4 and reimplements rare mobs.

Some were asking what is ~~wrong~~different with this mod: it makes the game 25% shorter, like chapter length and mob and equipment stat increases.

Shattered's trinkets are finally (after 11 days of waiting!) here, alongside with some aesthetic changes, buffs to underused and overused stuff and patches to world-importance bugs like warhammer stunning.

Don't know what else to say... go look for reaching another cycle!

The 100+ days of waiting and development hell are finally over...

This release introduces:

  • Shattered PD 2.3.2 port
  • minions port/overhaul, with 8 staffs to find in the dungeon with reworked abilities and stats
  • ports of few features from original Summoning, like healing gas, hordes, scimitar rework, clean water, frostburn...
  • rank manager spell, the new way to manage ranks
  • attunement rework to be like strength, but for magic
  • hunger adjustments, staffs in journal and other QoL
  • bugfixes for things from original Summoning

Don't you love forgetting about some tiny details (or, rather, dwarf-sized) and then being told that it makes the game unbeatable and having to cope with working on this abomination of a variant for few more hours? Me toon't.

At least DK's phase 2 is now gone.
