I know this probably should go to r/nosurf alternative on Lemmy, but I can't find one and I'm not interested in moderating one, so I'm posting here.

As the title suggests, a few days ago I deleted Youtube. Actually it's the surperior version of Youtube called Revanced Extended, but it doesn't really matter.

The choice for me was quick and easy, since Revanced was suffering some kind of buffering issue, which prevent it from playing the video about a minute in or so, so deleting it don't immediately affect my life yet.

Now, whenever I want to use Youtube, I have to use either the web desktop version on my computer (which has a ridiculous amount of load time), or I have to use the mobile web version (which lacks a lot of features and doesn't even save your video progress).

Because the web versions are so much more janky, I would theoretically have less and less tendency to just open Youtube out of boredom, thus reduce the amount of hour I use Youtube.

So far, that has not been the truth yet. I'm still using a pretty absurd amount of hour on Youtube (that has now transformed into Firefox), but with self-discipline and work, I hope this method would work in a short amount of time.

This is the same method that I have used to reduce my Discord usage, and it worked: Now, whenever I want to use Discord, I would just open up the native app on my laptop instead of using my phone, and only doing so if my laptop is not there.

It's OK, although not very good.

For one, I now suffers from sleep OCD. Every time I put my head into the pillow, I always have the feeling that I slept just slightly out of the middle of the pillow, even though I clearly don't.

This happens to other things, too. I kept changing the fan, the sleep position, the blanket, over and over again. And I think it's a main reason why I can't sleep well in the past couple of days. I have a really good sleep yesterday tho.

I also, temporarily, develop a fear for sleep. I don't know if this comes from me watching too much creepy TV IDs, or that one thought about a TV sign-off that is straight up horror movie to terrify the children, but whenever I sleep, I feel a sense of danger, like something is gonna come out of nowhere and devour me.

I don't know what it is. I just know it is something terrifying.

Anyways, in the past week I have been focusing more on my social media presence. I don't know why but I seem to focus more on how's my account doing, how's my art doing, etc.

Whenever TikTok sees something that is remotely negative, they will fight at all cost to make sure it doesn't exist on their platform. I have seen TikTok videos having to censor the word "orphanage" because according to TikTok that is a no-no word LOL
