What I don't understand though, doesn't using mullvad automatically set their own DNS?
Stock android is definitely enshitified - but there is still hope with custom os's
Had a similar issue as did one of my friends with pixels, which is unfortunate as grapheneos is one hell of a operating system.
After having 2 different pixels break (planned obsolescence) I ended up settling for a fairphone (which I can easily repair and replace parts myself with e/os - but divestOS also looks promising.

For any (k)ubuntu refugees, do as I did and switch to Debian!
Would flatpak mitigate this?
Exactly the same issue with me, I bought it on Good Old Games when I used to run windows as I love the premise of GOG, a similar ethos to Linux of actually owning software - but steam proton is just infinitely more practical.
Settings / Audio & Video / Enable both: "Use HLS" and "LBRY HLS"
I've also had issues with brave search on mull, whenever it decides It to check if I'm a robot it says that mull is missing a requirement
Then its no longer stock?
