I'm against because I think it's just censorship. Funny how when it was twitter, no one had problems. But Musk bought it and now it's a problem.

My experience is that there is no fucking difference between how it was and how it is now. Lemmy just hates Musk.

Having said that, I'm not really passionate about it either way. And as long as screen shots can still be shown, I'm cool.

But guys, you're not even making a dent in Musk's money hoard by avoiding linking to it. lmao

You can remove .midwest.social. They banned me because they said I'm a conservative and they don't allow conservatives. I'm actually a vegan libertarian anarchist socialist, but meh...

A ban evader is someone who creates alternate accounts to sneak back into communities or instances they've been banned from, just to continue posting.

I’ve kept the same username across different instances, and I avoid posting in communities where I’ve been banned. I do this for transparency—so everyone knows I’m not posting in places that I’m banned from.

And yes, I’m aware of that thread. In fact, I use a screenshot of it as my profile banner. Notice that the new instance admins didn’t ban me because they saw that I wasn’t ban evading.

For example: If you banned me from this community, I wouldn’t post here again, no matter what instance I’m using. I’m not a ban evader.

Moving to a different instance after being banned, and avoiding the banned instance, is NOT ban evading.

Lemmy values diversity of thought, and the whole point of the Fediverse is that there’s no central authority that can just get rid of everyone they don't like.

Different admins and different instances have different preferences and crowds. That's what's so awsome about the Fediverse and Lemmy!

Again, not unhinged. Those stories are direct parodies of the absurdity of Lemmy and how passionate people are.

Even the name of the series is "Tales from the Cryptic Lemmy." Get it? Tales from the Crypt. The 1960's outrageous comic and the cheesy 1980's tv show. And I still write them and just added a story and am finishing up editing one now.

And I have never written any stories about any specific person on Lemmy. Inspired by the outrageous things said to me, yes, but that's what creativity is. Yeah, I have never denied that. I was banned on one instance so I branched out to different instances. I decentralized, which lines up with the entire spirit of the Fediverse.

Getting banned, and then making a bunch of accounts on new instances saying “Despite the attempts to silence me, I’m still here” is evading the ban.

I disagree. Evading a ban is coming up with a DIFFERENT user name, then going into places I was banned from and continuing to post. I have never posted on .world since the ban (other than to respond to the thread you participated in and I worked with .world admin on that and made them and my admin aware of it).

By me keeping the same username across instances, I'm being transparent. It would be very easy to just pick a new name, and go back on .world and post. That would be ban evading, which I don't do.

Me posting on another instance isn't a ban evade by any definition. Admins agree.

"Ragebait" is posting something to piss people off on purpose. I don't do that. I post whatever I find interesting, regardless of source, and I follow rules of the communities. And when I don't, they remove.

I recently had a community say my source wasn't good enough and gave me a list of sources that they thought were acceptable. So now I only post from those sources.

Not everyone hates Fox News and Brietbart. You do, and that's perfectly fine. If you modded a community, I wouldn't post from those sources. But those sources are not outlawed in the US or the earth or Lemmy. Even if you wish they were.

I'm not sorry that I don't hate Trump as much as Lemmy does. But apparently a huge chunk of the US doesn't either, since he won popular vote.

But I still didn't vote for him nor do I think he will be a good president. And I don't think that just because I post a news article that is favorable to him makes me a "nazi."
