(Proceeds to watch the subject bang his head repeatedly, injuring himself with the very same arguments he thinks he is making. Pointing out failure to read comprehensively might help, but more likely only increase the intensity by which he injures himself. It is a sad sight, one of many. She must move on.)

Dear confused men (hashtag: not all men): You have lots of problems. The vast majority are not caused by women. One of your problems is trying to blame us for many of the harmful things you do to yourselves, or that patriarchy/toxic masculinity does to you. Another problem is loathing it when women try to help you by explaining this to you but it isn't what you want to hear bc it isn't stroking your ego (or other bits). So there really isn't much else to be done - your problems are yours to solve, and all we can do is try some damage control for ourselves while you guys bang your heads against the floor.

Sincerely - Feminists, who care about men, but not to the point of our own destruction any longer.

Commenting should be considered contribution.

People use reddit (and hopefully Lemmy) and not just a news aggrigator because people value the comments and discourse on content as much or sometimes more than the content itself. (Granted - this may be subject specific)

Which is how this ends up being a chicken-egg problem.

Are people driving plastic usage or is capitalism driving policies that drive people to use more plastic?

And if so, why is industry writing policy instead of the public, or agents that are supposed to work for the public's interest?

None of this ends until enough "regular people" coordinate to take power back from industry so that we operate like an actual democracy again. If you want to preserve an environment on Earth fit for human habitation, you have to get loud about... Campaign finance reform : P. And then realized that as boring as that sounds, that that will be when things actually would get violent and scary bc real power would be threatened.

I am not optimistic we'll even get that far. Our population probably will take some very severe hits in our lifetime though. I'll cut down on meat where I can, but I am mostly just enjoying the good times we have left.

But they are not as easily controlled and shoved out of the way if our plutocratic lords want to just cut them off.

Happy people are also happy bc they have more security and rights that they have the means to enforce. That is terrifying if your goal in life is to squeeze as much as you can out of others.

A person whose body underwent the female development path instead of the male development path during embryonic and fetal development, which may also include in some cases persons whose bodies underwent partial development under either or both paths.
