Guys, I know it's hard to be yourself. But, like, people like people who do hard things. Hence, if being yourself is one of the harder things to do, but you do it anyway, someone will like it.

Everything not required for functionality should be optional! If you have to collect data to get money, then you're not very good at making money!!!
Damn, that's a... pretty good way of putting it. You're served the pleasure on a platter rather than having to work for it, which ends up making the resulting pleasure less... pleasurable. Instead of a midnight sky with twinkling stars here and there, it's TV static.
I will admit, I have partly succumbed to the goonification of the internet. But there's always steps anyone can take to get out of it. Not using the internet entirely isn't plausible for most, but what you do on the internet matters. Just read stuff that interests you on online blogs. Learn how to code, because why not. Or just find a little niche corner of the internet where you can talk to people about stuff you want to talk about.
Don't let the internet control you. You control the internet.
