My musing is not the sole reason why I'm voting for Harris, but you are correct that it is not exactly up to her (which of course kind of undermines the continuous claims I see from people saying she could end the genocide right this second).

I actually wonder if she has a different stance on Israel but simply will not/cannot talk about it because she is also the VP and it's a "bad look to go against the boss," so to speak.

Having dealt with them, they seem utterly committed to both parties being bad because they both serve capitalist ends and the ruling class (which is true tbh), but then fail to grasp that while both sides aren't great, one side is at least doing SOMETHING positive while the other is actively trying to destroy things.

Just from a climate standpoint, at least the Dems are passing some kind of legislation about green energy and agree it exists, whereas the Republicans deny it and want to cut all remaining protections. This leaves us with two options: either these people want things to get worse out of some desire for change acceleration (yikes), or they really are just that stupid and can't see any difference.

But also, you are literally killing Palestinians by saying these things - join me in waggling my finger at the government to feel better about yourself!

The problem, of course, is that they have opted for the self-destructive course and lash out uselessly at people who want change but have been forced to look at the reality of the situation and try to reduce damage as much as possible.

What they are doing now, calling anyone who votes Democrat a genocide supporter, is a prime example of that useless lashing out, as it isn't productive, particularly in a rather small online space.

It's probably best not to bother - these people want things as shitty as possible as fast as possible to make the revolution happen sooner or some shit

Unlike the Republicans, I am of course being facetious in my statements, though, one could make an argument such a thing is already occurring with Police and minorities...

That said, the plans Republicans have put forward absolutely do include the outright killing of "pedophiles," with "pedophile" being defined as "any person that distributes obscene content to minors or espouses "sexually explicit things to kids," effectively allowing them to kill drag queens or LGBT+ people as their very existence is labeled as obscenely content for minors.

I don't know why the Dems don't drop some of their gun control policies, but its not an issue I'm really super concerned with either way compared to other things.

Yeah...its so obviously bullshit, which sucks, because I agree it is terrible what is happening in Gaza, but these mouthbreathers don't seem to grasp that the world isn't an easily defined place and solutions aren't ever easy (inb4 I get one of them screaming "JuSt sToP vOtInG fOr ThEm" or whatever, lol).

It's how you know these fucks are either Republican trolls trying to undermine Kamala's campaign because they know their candidate sucks or they're just so marinated in propaganda and theory they lack the bandwidth to actually apply basic logic to even the most obvious of situations.

My truly white-hot take is that if I had to choose between Palestine being reduced to ash and losing me and my family's rights and Palestine being reduced to ash and me and my family not losing my rights...I'm going to take the option that involves me and my family not losing my rights lol.

And, to be frank, if I had to choose between helping a million strangers I've never met or not, with the lives of my family and friends on the line, I'd probably pick my family and friends over the strangers, regardless of the issue.

You can moan and cry all you want about "you are voting for genocide" or whatever - the fact is that the world is much larger than Palestine. Other things are at stake here. How the fuck are all those Palestinians (who are still going to be bombed by the Republicans btw) going to deal with climate change as its effects worsen when a Republican administration takes power in the US and rolls back all our climate protections and attempts to mitigate climate change? The global poor are FUCKED if we don't handle that shit as best we can ASAP. Full stop.

I'm personally not interested in fucking over every other person on the planet for Palestine. Is the genocide horrible? Yes. Should it be stopped immediately? Yes. Do I want it to stop? Also, yes. But can I in good conscience actively utilize my vote to wring my hands over genocide and allow an even worse scenario to play out? Fuck no.

There are more things at stake here than just Palestine. Shit sucks, but that's the world we live in and there won't be magical change just because you wring your hands and screech on the internet about how random people are "supporting a genocide by voting for Kamala" when any person with half a brain can see that the Republican party has acted the same way in the past and will actively accelerate it when given the chance (remember when Trump pissed everyone off by moving the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, effectively recognizing the stolen land there?). Grow the fuck up and see that the world isn't so simple - sometimes there are no good options, only mildly less shitty ones.
