YSK: there's a type of common hallucination (often scary) that happens shortly after waking up. You can move and talk while seeing it and it can last between a few seconds up to a minute in c/youshouldknow@lemmy.world

It’s interesting to think that people who have seen “demons” or been visited by ghosts may have experienced something like this. In times before modern science, there was probably no other explanation.
